Dear Mr. Pridgen,
Words cannot express the appreciation that I, and the military
veterans of the Triad, have for you and the Fairway Outdoor Advertising
Co. The Veterans' Memorial of High Point and The American Legion
Post #206 have sponsored High Point's annual Veterans Day Parade
since 1983, but we have been unable to inform the citizens of
this tribute to the veterans and all patriotic Americans who are
dedicated to the preservation of peace and freedoms of this great
nation.
The High Point Chamber of Commerce called me prior to the parade,
and said they were being inundated with calls from citizens who
had seen the Fairway billboards, advertising information about
the parade. I also, received many calls from people wanting to
be in the parade, or wanting more information.
Prior to this year, we have had 100-110 units in the parade,
with approximately 1500-2000 spectators. This year, there were
175 units in the parade, and 4000-5000 spectators. Your billboards
were certainly the contributing factor to such a successful patriotic
memorial.
On behalf of all the veterans and patriotic Americans, we can
only say, thank you and Fairway Outdoor Advertising for your gracious
donation of the billboards.
Sincerely,
Jack M. Austin |
